Creamy Peanut Butter Shake                                                    2 ice cubes

2 Tbs. creamy peanut butter                                                          1/2 soft banana 

1/4 cup powdered milk/powdered soy protein                              1/2 cup water

1 package sugar substitute


Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth.                                 20 grams of protein

One of my favorite quick and easy gastric bypass recipes.

High Protein Strawberry Shake

1 packet of strawberry "no sugar added" instant breakfast                3 ice cubes                            

1 cup of fat free milk or soy milk                                                       1 scoop whey protein powder


Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth.                                     30.5 grams of protein

Tropical Shake

1 packet vanilla "no sugar added" instant breakfast                            1/2 banana

1 cup fat free milk or soy milk                                                             1/2 tsp. coconut extract

1 scoop whey protein powder                                                               3 ice cubes


Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth.                                       30.5 grams of protein

Yogurt Smoothie                       

1 container (6oz.) of light or non fat yogurt (any flavor)                          1/2 banana or 

1/2 cup fat free milk or soy milk                                                             1/2 canned lite peaches

1/4 cup powdered milk                                                                             


Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth.                                           24 grams of protein

Mexican Chocolate Shake

1 can chocolate "low carb" slim fast                                                        3 ice cubes

1 scoop whey protein                                                                               dash of cinnamon


Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth.                                          38.5 grams of protein

This is one of my Favorite After Gastric Bypass Recipes. I ate this often. 


Egg Drop Soup

4 cups chicken broth or stock                                                                1-2 green onions minced

2 eggs lightly beaten                                                                               1/4 teaspoon white pepper

a couple of drops of sesame oil (optional)                                               salt to taste


In a wok or sauce pan bring the chicken broth to a boil. Add the white pepper, salt and sesame oil.  Cook for another minute. Very slowly pour in the beaten eggs in a steady stream.  To make shreds, stir the eggs rapidly in a clockwise direction for one minute. Garnish with green onions.                              8 grams of protein per serving

Chicken Artichoke Soup    

1 14 oz. jar of artichoke hearts                                                             1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg  

2 ozs. soft or silken tofu                                                                       1/4 tsp.  chili powder  

4 Tbs. grated parmesan cheese                                                             2 cups fat free chicken broth

1 1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice                                                                        1/2 pound cooked skinless,boneless  

3/4 tsp. dried tarragon                                                                           chicken breast, cubed

1 clove garlic minced    


Puree artichoke hearts until chunky.  Add remaining ingredients and puree until smooth.  Pour into pot ,cover and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes or so.                                           21 grams of protein per serving

Deviled Egg Salad

4 medium eggs                                                                                   2 Tbsp. low fat mayonaise

1 tsp. dried minced onion                                                                   2 tsp. dijon mustard

2 tsp. paprika                                                                                      

Bring eggs to a boil and cook for 18 minutes.  Cool eggs,peel and quarter. Place eggs and all other ingredients in food processor and blend for 15 seconds until almost smooth. Salt and pepper to taste.  

                                                                                                             7 grams of protein per serving

Scrambled eggs or omelets with turkey and cheese are other quick and easy  after gastric bypass recipes I fix a lot. 

Of course any combination of meat, cheese and eggs is a great source of protein and should be a part of your after gastric bypass recipes collection.

 Turkey Loaf with Horseradish Sauce 

1 Lb. ground turkey                                                                     2 Tbsp. dried parsley flakes

1 6 oz can tomato juice                                                               1 Tbsp dried celery flakes

1 egg lightly beaten                                                                     1 tsp. pepper

Preheat oven to 350. In a large bowl combine and mix all ingredients. coat a baking pan with cooking spray and mound turkey mixture in center of pan. Bake for 55 minutes. Top with horseradish sauce and bake 10 more minutes.

Horseradish sauce

1 cup fat free sour cream                                                              3 Tbsp. concentrated chicken broth

2 tsp. paprika                                                                                2 Tbsp. prepared horseradish

Combine all ingredients and mix well.                                         

                                                                                                      30 grams protein per serving

Beef Stroganoff

1 Lb. lean eye of round steak finely cut into strips                         2 cloves garlic, minced

1  6oz. can tomato sauce                                                                1/2 cup dry red wine

1 cup fresh mushrooms, sliced                                                       1 bay leaf

1/2 cup fat free sour cream                                                             salt and pepper to taste

Coat skillet with cooking spray saute' garlic and brown meat for about 3 mins. Add rest of ingredients (except sour cream)  and simmer covered, over low heat for about 1 1/2 hrs.  Turn off heat and stir in sour cream. 

                                                                                                        27 grams of protein per serving

Lemon Souffle'

2 large eggs, separated                                                                    6 packets artificial swetner

1/4 cup lemon juice                                                                         1  12 oz. can fat free evaporated milk

2 Tbsp. lemon zest

Preheat oven to 350.  Beat egg whites until stiff. In a separate bowl, mix all other ingredients together and gently fold in egg whites.  Pour into 2 qt. baking dish or souffle' dish and place dish in a baking pan. Pour hot water into baking pan until it reaches halfway up sides of souffle' dish.  Bake 35 minutes.

                                                                                                           9 grams of protein per serving
